“Gabe is one of the most genuine guys I’ve ever met. He’s an outstanding trainer he really understands strength and conditioning down to the science. I’ve been training with him for 2-3 years now and every time I’ve worked with him I see instant improvements on and off the field. Although he is a very good trainer what keeps me coming back is our relationship, He really cares about the person more than the player and would literally give you the shirt off his back if needed. He’s the best I’ve been around and I’ve been around some great ones!”

— Kaleb Roper, Chicago White Sox

“Working with Gabe at SP Training really helped me take my game to the next level. He’s a great trainer but an even better teacher. Aside from the elite training on hand, he has mentored me so that I am able to learn things to take with me whenever I am not with him. He puts emphasis on individuality in his programs and works endlessly to meet all of his athletes needs. I am very grateful for the relationship I still maintain with him to this day. Highly recommend his services!”

“I’ve had a lot of pitching coaches in my life but I haven’t had many like Gabe Solis! Not only does he pay attention to detail but he is able to help pitchers at any age adjust and improve not only their performance but their health. He is a huge reason that I am where I am today I’m so thankful that God opened the door for Gabe to help me get my pitching performance back to the top of my game!”

— Montana Parsons, Florida Marlins

“Training with Gabe was the most performance altering choice I made in my career. Obviously as a trainer, he got me physically prepared. But I what makes his teaching special is the way he trains his athletes on the mental side of the game. I was starting every weekend while I played at Baylor. Gabe was living in Austin, Tx at the time and I did anything I could to drive an hour and a half to see him, and go through preparation drills. It’s funny, each time I was able to make that drive and prepare for that weeks game with Gabe, I performed above average. The story that stands out the me the most, is the first time I went to visit him. I drove to Austin late after our practice and met Gabe at a field around 7pm or so. We went through a couple throwing drills but the main focus that evening and most times during the season was mental prep. He had me lie down on the mound and go through every single pre game throw as if it was my start day against OU (because that’s who we were playing the coming weekend). Then I had to mentally go through each pitch to each batter of each inning...for all 9 innings as if I had thrown a perfect game. It may sound absurd on paper, and it did in person as well. That’s a lot of real time throws, that took over an hour just to complete in my head. Over the course of those 9 innings Gabe would break my meditation and say “put 2 guys on base, with only one out, and get yourself out of it.” So I would promptly do it in my head and get myself out of it. By the end of the night I’m exhausted, as if I had actually pitched an entire game. Fast forward to the game against OU and I threw 7 shutout innings with 8 k’s. I put myself in a jam during the 5th inning with 2 guys on and one out just like I prepared for...sure enough I got out of it because I felt like I had already done it. My heart rate didn’t go up, I remained calm and confident. If not for Gabe, I wouldn’t have had nearly as much success in Big 12 baseball, or in pro ball. Mental prep is often times more crucial to a players career than physical prep. All I know is each time I was able to meet with Gabe the week of to go over things for the next game, I always had a solid weekend. I owe a large portion of my success to Gabe Solis.”

“SP Training is where it’s at, I mean Gabe just changed my life. I went there in my first off season after getting draft in 2019, and he took care of me just like I was family. The workouts we had there were insane, got me crazy strong in my legs. Throwing-wise, I mean throwing program that he had for us was unbelievable. He was on top of everything from bullpens to lives he just had me game ready when I was going back in February. There’s not enough words that I can say that would show my appreciation for Gabe and what his gym had done for me that year. Outside of the gym Gabe is a great person, still keeps up with me to this day. So, if you’re think about a place to train at and you’re not sure, SP Training is where is at… ”

—Carson Maxwell, Arizona Diamondbacks

“I started working with Gabe and SP Training at the beginning of my senior year at McNeese State. It was because of their commitment to helping me become a more focused and well-rounded athlete that played a huge part in my being drafted in 2019.  Gabe and SP Training have helped me every step of the way, not only improving my physical self and dropping my 60 time significantly but also providing outside resources to stay healthy and at the top of my game. Gabe/SPT has also allowed me the opportunity to work with the best hitting coaches in professional baseball. With their extensive knowledge and professionalism, it is clear that the SPT staff strives to bring the best out of every athlete they work with! I am truly grateful for this crew for all that they have done and continue to do for me.”

-Michael Smith, Tampa Bay Rays

“I first came to Gabe during my sophomore year of college while attending San Jacinto Junior College. He welcomed me with open arms and treated me as family. Every day I was put to the test physically and mentally. What stood out the most was how hands-on Gabe was with his athletes. He truly wants the best performance from everyone each and every day. He helped me throughout my off-seasons while playing professionally with the Tampa Bay Rays as well. He taught me how to train as a professional athlete and got me to my peak performance before every spring training. Can’t thank Gabe and Alex enough for what they did for me during my time there. They are forever family and will always be a part of my life.”

—Brady Basso, Oakland Athletics

“We started my freshman year of college at 19 years old, I had more body fat than I was used to, and I had a velo of like 87-89, 90 tops. We worked hard at Gabe’s place for the 5 weeks I had off of school for Christmas, and when I headed back I was 210, lean and throwing harder and stronger I’d ever been. I was more explosive and my mechanics were better. My first scrimmage, the slowest pitch I threw was 92 and I sat at 93. I haven’t looked back since.

-Ryan Hernandez, Cleburne Railroaders

“SP training is probably my favorite place that I have worked out at within my baseball career. The guys there have helped me develop, put me in positions to be successful in the off-season, and have gotten me into game shape before I ever expected! Thanks to Gabe and Mac for always treating me like family and I will definitely be back next offseason and bring my brother with me as well!”
