Navasink or Swim

What a great day for a swim. I have now participated in all but the first of these events, and it is incredible to see the growth of the day. This year the race drew over 700 participants for the two distance formats. Doug Rice of Sandy Hookers Tri Club, continues to raise the bar on events and participants. While exciting, it also made parking and port a potty’s a challenge.
Including myself there were five Solis Athletes participating, and all had incredible performances. Lindsay, who has truly dedicated herself to improve her swim power and stamina, showed with a nearly six minute improvement in the 1.2 mile format. Pat showed there are no hurdles she cannot clear, in taking on the 2.4 mile challenge. While I was tired and sea-sick thinking about her in the water, she glided through the water, and who knows what she will take on next.
I did have a slight advantage draped in my Xterra Vendetta which allowed me to effortlessly cut through the water.
The water was quite temperate considering the time of the year, which made the swim very enjoyable. A Few of us finished the day with a relaxed bike up to Sandy Hook. Results are now up.
